Terms of Service
Effective date: October 13, 2026
This English version is a translation provided for convenience. If it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.
Announced October 6, 2026 · Effective October 13, 2026
We revised the notice on service termination (Section 6) to match server storage for logged-in users (Section 4), and the wording on AI features (Sections 1, 3 and 7) to match the fact that the Service has no AI features. Under Section 8, notice is given 7 days before the effective date, and until the effective date the previous Terms (version effective September 6, 2026, in Korean) apply. The changes are listed in the change history at the bottom.
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Auruda Genogram (the “Service”), a genogram drawing tool for psychological counseling provided by Auruda (the “Company”), and the rights and obligations of the Company and users.
By using the Service, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms. Matters concerning the processing of personal information are governed by the Privacy Policy.
1. The Service
The Service is a tool that lets users create and edit genograms and export them as images and in other forms. The Company may improve or change the Service’s features, and will announce material changes in advance.
Where a user also uses Auruda Verbatim with the same account, client genograms created in that service from session records appear in the Service’s genogram list as well and can be edited further.
The Service has no AI features. However, genograms that Auruda Verbatim created with AI from session records may appear in the Service’s genogram list.
Such results are reference material. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, so users must check them. The Service is only a drawing tool and does not provide medical or psychological diagnosis or treatment. Interpreting genograms and making clinical judgments are entirely the responsibility of the user (the professional).
2. Accounts
Users can create one genogram without logging in. To use multiple genograms, users must log in with an Auruda account (social login with Google, Naver or Apple).
Users are responsible for managing their own accounts, and the Company is not responsible for problems arising from sharing an account with others. Users can log out from the account menu at the top right of the screen.
3. Rights to user content
All rights to genograms created by users belong to the users. The Company claims no rights to user content, does not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service, such as advertising, marketing or AI model training, and does not provide or sell it to third parties.
For logged-in users, genograms are stored encrypted on the Company’s servers so that work can continue across devices (Section 4). The Company does not view their content unless necessary to operate the Service.
4. Data storage and user responsibility (important)
When logged in — genograms are stored encrypted on the Company’s servers, and a copy remains on the user’s device so that work can continue offline. Because the server is the primary store, users can continue their work as it was by logging in, even after changing devices or clearing browser data.
Depending on network conditions, saving to the server may be delayed. Genograms not yet saved to the server are marked On this device only in the list, and the Service retries automatically. While this mark is shown, do not clear the browser data on that device. When a genogram is deleted, the deletion is also final only once it has been applied on the server.
Genograms can be viewed only by their creator and the members the creator designates. Sharing is view-only; only the creator can edit, delete or re-share a genogram, and sharing can be revoked at any time. Because genograms contain information about counseling clients, the creator is responsible for confirming any necessary consent before sharing.
When not logged in — genograms are stored only in the user’s browser or app storage. Therefore, in the following cases the data is permanently lost and the Company cannot recover it.
- The browser's cookies, site data or cache are deleted
- Work was done in a private (incognito) window and the window is closed
- The app is deleted or its data is reset
- The device is lost or reset, or the user moves to another device
- The browser clears site data, for example because storage space is low
If the same genogram is edited on multiple devices, the content saved last is kept. The Company does not merge edits automatically, so it recommends not editing the same genogram on several devices at the same time.
In any case, please keep a separate copy of important work with the export feature.
5. User obligations
Users must not do any of the following.
- Use the Service for the purpose of violating laws or infringing the rights of others
- Interfere with the normal operation of the Service (such as causing abnormal traffic or exploiting vulnerabilities)
- Collect or copy the Service in bulk by automated means without the Company's express consent
- Reverse engineer the Service, or redistribute or sell it without authorization
When handling information about counseling clients, users must comply with the consent and confidentiality obligations under applicable laws and professional ethics. When sharing a screen or presenting, using the Service’s Hide names feature is recommended.
6. Provision and suspension of the Service
The Service is in principle provided all year round, but it may be temporarily suspended for unavoidable reasons such as system maintenance, failures or natural disasters. Where advance notice is possible, the Company will give it beforehand.
The Company may terminate all or part of the Service, in which case it will give notice at least 30 days in advance. Genograms of logged-in users are stored on the Company’s servers, and genograms of users who are not logged in are stored on their devices, so please keep the genograms you need with the export feature within the notice period. Files users have exported are not affected by termination of the Service, and genograms on the Company’s servers will be destroyed after termination in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer
The Service is provided as is. The Company does not warrant that the Service will be fit for any particular purpose of the user.
The Company is not liable for the following, except for damage caused by the Company’s intent or gross negligence.
- Loss of genograms stored only on the device while not logged in, for the reasons in Section 4
- Damage arising from inaccuracies in genograms that Auruda Verbatim created with AI (the results are reference material, and users are responsible for checking them)
- The consequences of clinical judgments users make by interpreting or using genograms
- Disruptions to use of the Service attributable to the user
- Damage caused by events beyond the Company's control, such as natural disasters or failures of telecommunications or hosting providers
8. Changes to these Terms
The Company may change these Terms when necessary and, when it does, will announce the change on this page from 7 days before the effective date. Changes unfavorable to users will be announced 30 days in advance. Users who do not agree to the changed Terms may stop using the Service.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any dispute between the Company and a user concerning use of the Service shall in principle be resolved through mutual consultation. If no agreement is reached, an action may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act (Korea).
10. Contact
Please send inquiries about these Terms to contact@auruda-j.com, and inquiries about the processing of personal information to privacy@auruda-j.com.
Change history
October 13, 2026 — Revised
- Section 6 stated: “Because the genogram body is on the user's device, export files the user has kept are not affected even after the Service ends.” This conflicted with server storage for logged-in users (Section 4), so it was revised to give guidance by storage location and to state that server copies are destroyed after termination.
- Section 1's “The Service provides or may provide AI features” was revised to state the facts that the Service has no AI features and that genograms Auruda Verbatim created with AI may appear in the list. That such results are reference material is unchanged.
- Deleted from Section 3: “Only where the user has used an AI feature, it is processed only to the extent necessary to perform that feature.”
- In the disclaimer in Section 7, “drawing and analysis results presented by AI features” was changed to “genograms that Auruda Verbatim created with AI.”
- Notice — announced on October 6, 2026 and applies from October 13, 2026, 7 days later (Section 8). Until then, the previous Terms (version effective September 6, 2026) apply.
